Where do you land?

You will be part of the Eastern Mediterranean commercial establishment of Air France KLM.
The establishment represents the following countries: Italy, Greece, Israel, Turkey, Cyprus, Albania, and Malta. The responsibility of the office is to manage the commercial activities in terms of Marketing, Pricing, Loyalty, Sales, Finance, HR and Operations.

Job description

What will the purpose of the job be?

In respect of Air France and KLM how the Communications and Press guidelines and the Management’s commercial policy, the PR and Communication Manager, in cooperation with our Europe Communications team and press offices in Amsterdam and Paris, has the responsibility to coordinate all measures aimed at optimising external communication concerning Air France, KLM and AIR FRANCE KLM in the local media (trade press, traditional press, social media and audio visio channels).
The PR and Communication Manager is mainly concerned about the following topics: Product & services, fares, programs, sustainability and local organization.
In respect of Air France and KLM Internal communication policy, the PR and Communication Manager has the responsibility for the organization of meetings, internal newsletters and team animation.

What are you going to do?

1. Coordination of the Italian press network
• In the framework of Air France and KLM communications strategy and in coordination with our area and the local teams, you determine the external communications / press plan and the corresponding budget.
• Keeps updated and adds to the national, regional, and local press file.
• Organizes press events (press releases, interviews, lectures and press trips) relative to topical news in the management (new features in the schedule, fare and promotional news, local organization, personnel changes); responsible for the choice of journalists, material organization, constitution of press files, writing of speeches, preparation of Q&A sessions.
• Responds to requests from the local press.

2. Coordination of the Greek, Israeli and Turkish press network
• Supervise local communication action plans
• Support local marketing in any PR related activity
• Supervise press trip requests

3. Reporting / Media watch
• Daily review of the AFKL press coverage
• Preparation of a monthly press summary.
• Informs Head Office press teams about any questions or coverage having corporate impact.

4. Internal role
• Organizing internal & external events
• Organization/support of team building actions
• Production of internal newsletter
• Ad hoc communication actions
• Guardian of the correct usage of our brand guidelines

Sought profile

 

Your profile

• Min 5 years of experience in marketing/communication/journalism, preferably in the
travel industry
• Bachelor’s degree (or 1 level lower) in marketing, communication or journalism
• Experience with national press and press agencies
• Able to manage crisis situations
• Personality: Team player, networker, innovator, flexible, strong communicator, reliable and loyal, values setting up personal relationships, representative, can deal with all levels of the organization.

Competencies

• Fluent in English and Italian
• French or Dutch as extra language will be a plus
• Good knowledge of social media & web environment
• Good knowledge of bloggers platforms
